Key responsibilities include developing concept, preliminary and detailed designs, calculations, specifications and documentation, with a focus on Sustainable Drainage Systems and storm‑water management. You will lead single‑utility projects, act as a discipline lead on multi‑utility schemes, develop hydraulic models, and optimise drainage options toward low‑carbon, Net‑Zero targets. Coordination across multidisciplinary teams, use of digital collaboration tools (ProjectWise, BIM 360, MS Teams, SharePoint), 3‑D model checks, clash detection, and continuous improvement of design tools are also central to the role.
- Design wet utilities (storm, foul, potable, TSE) for UK, Ireland, Middle East
- Develop concept, preliminary and detailed designs with calculations and specifications
- Apply Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDs) and storm‑water management solutions
- Create and review pavement designs for rural and small urban roads
- Lead single‑utility projects and act as discipline lead for multi‑utility projects
- Develop and inspect hydraulic models; optimise storm‑drainage schemes
- Deliver low‑carbon, Net‑Zero aligned designs
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with LPOs and clients
- Use CDE platforms such as ProjectWise, BIM 360, MS Teams, SharePoint
- Develop/check 3D models, drawings and BIM interfaces
- Perform utility clash detection and resolution
- Improve design tools, checklists and collaborate with digital teams
- Support team development and skill enhancement
- Apply QSE standards and Business Management System (BMS)
- Promote digital engineering and innovative design solutions

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering and at least eight years of experience in the water and wastewater sector. Candidates should have hands‑on experience designing wet utilities for regions such as the UK, Ireland and the Middle East, and be familiar with international codes. Proficiency in design software (InfoDrainage, CausewayFlow, MicroDrainage, CivilStorm, PCSWMM, etc.) and BIM platforms (Civil3D, MicroStation, Revit, Navisworks) is essential, as are strong English communication skills and a chartered membership or progress toward chartership.

- 8+ years of water and wastewater industry experience
- Familiarity with international codes (US, Canada, UK, Middle East)
- Experience on major infrastructure projects at master‑plan, concept and detailed design stages
- Proficient with InfoDrainage, CausewayFlow, MicroDrainage, CivilStorm, Sewergems/Watergems, PCSWMM
- Working knowledge of BIM tools: Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads/Inroads/MX Road, Revit, Navisworks
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new design software and automation tools
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, seniors, clients
- Chartered member or working toward chartership (ICE, CIWEM)
