Field Technicians execute on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while ensuring system functionality and reliability. Their duties include conducting site surveys, configuring hardware and software, testing systems, following safety plans, reviewing design documentation, tracking project metrics, managing tools and materials, and leading safety and commissioning activities.
- Execute on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems.
- Conduct site surveys, configure hardware/software, test systems, and provide technical support to customers.
- Follow and enforce project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW) and M.C. Dean handbook policies.
- Review design documentation, analyze drawing packages, and assess constructability.
- Track project metrics, attend weekly resource allocation meetings, and verify timesheet charges.
- Complete detailed documentation for installation and maintenance activities within planned durations.
- Inventory, inspect, and manage tools, as well as coordinate material ordering and receiving.
- Lead daily ORM meetings, ensure safety compliance, and complete accident/incident reporting.
- Create and execute PITCO plans to ensure high‑quality testing and installation.
- Install system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, and panels per industry standards.
- Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.
- Manage base switch configurations, configure servers and workstations, and troubleshoot programmable components.
- Perform quality control inspections, follow QC plans and checklists, and document findings.
- Install and maintain field devices, test system components, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic issues.
- Lead commissioning efforts, track activities, and represent M.C. Dean in meetings with owners and design teams.
- Communicate consistently with project teams, other trades, and customers; provide constructive feedback and mentorship.
- Provide look‑ahead planning for manpower, material procurement, staging, and resource allocation.

Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance, be U.S. citizens, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant electronics training, an electronics technician degree, or an electrical apprenticeship. They need at least six years of electronics installation or maintenance experience, strong communication and teamwork skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet physical job demands. Preferred qualifications include vendor certifications for IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems, three years of security‑system experience, and OSHA 30 certification.
The role requires physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders and scaffolds up to 60 ft, and performing routine tasks like walking, squatting, crawling, and reaching overhead. Candidates must have good vision (corrected if needed), color perception, and be able to hear and communicate effectively in English.
- Hold an active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship eligibility.
- Possess a high school diploma/GED with military electronics training, an electronics technician degree, or an electrical apprenticeship.
- Have 6+ years of electronics installation/maintenance experience across multiple systems and customer programs.
- Demonstrate strong oral, written, and presentation skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; may require use of a company vehicle.
- Preferred: vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Bosch), 3 years of electronic security experience, OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lb, climb ladders/stepladders, work at heights up to 60 ft, and perform routine physical tasks.
- Possess good vision (corrected if needed), color perception, and English hearing/communication abilities.
