Building a Better Future for Hawaii.
The role is not a ‘babysit the jobsite’ superintendent; the incumbent will own complex civil projects from planning through punch‑list, driving safety, quality, productivity and culture while collaborating with foremen, project managers and crews to protect people, schedules and margins.
Key responsibilities include planning and directing daily construction activities, developing work schedules aligned with crew availability and material deliveries, and adjusting plans for weather or site conditions. The superintendent will build and train high‑performing field crews, enforce safety policies and OSHA requirements, ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance, track production, manpower and equipment usage, monitor costs and productivity, manage change orders, and serve as the primary field point of contact for project execution.
The ideal candidate has at least five years of progressive heavy civil construction experience, a demonstrated ability to lead jobsite operations from mobilization to close‑out, and experience coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors and schedules. An associate degree in Construction Management is preferred, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with HCSS, HeavyJob or Adobe Acrobat. Leadership qualities include calm decisiveness, clear communication, a safety‑first mindset and alignment with Alpha’s values.
Employment is contingent upon standard pre‑employment screening, a background check, a drug test, and verification of U.S. work authorization; the company does not sponsor visas. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request, and Alpha Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
