  • Develops and maintain comprehensive technical, engineering and procurement documentation. Including 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, technical submittals, SOO’s, FWT scripts, scope delineations, vendor costing forms, Quality and Testing reports
  • Builds and maintains supplier relationships and drives improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and quality
  • Leads a cross functional team in the design and launch of Major Capital Equipment (MCE), focusing on performance, vendor quality, and manufacturing scalability
  • Leads cross-functional design reviews and facilitate stage-gate project approvals
  • Educates suppliers on the mechanics of doing business with Equinix
  • Accountable for new product insertion implementation and process
  • Owns cost savings proposals and interacts closely with suppliers, and internal customers, to achieve the cost savings, commercial and other demonstrable business benefits.
  • Identify and mitigate supplier risks in the areas of design, product definition, new product insertion and root cause analyses
  • Manages the entire NPI process, encompassing engineering development, Factory Witness Testing, and strategic insertion while validating the business case justification to ensure validity of NPI
  • Incorporates Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost optimization strategies into early-stage product designs
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Engineering Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations to define product specifications and ensure optimal system-level performance
  • Drives and delivers cost savings opportunities above and beyond expectations
  • Drives cross-functional technical engagements with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for NPI processes, tools, and best practices in Major Capital Equipment development
  • Oversees testing of product performance and quality controls to meet product requirements
  • Identifies and resolves various supplier management problems
  • Supports selection of new suppliers
  • Drive product innovation and value engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in new product development for mechanical, electrical, and critical power infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across technical and business functions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Proven track record of technical due diligence during vendor selection processes
  • Experience managing factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) with OEM and contractor teams
  • Proficiency in budget estimation, bid evaluation, and change order review for power infrastructure projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil/Construction Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • Experience conducting technology benchmarking and assessing emerging solutions for efficiency, resilience, and scalability
  • Experience launching products in a global environment
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Proven track record of managing NPI programs through a Phase Gate process
  • Ability to perform total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis for critical power systems, factoring in CAPEX, OPEX, efficiency, and maintenance
  • Skilled in comparing technical specifications, performance metrics, and lifecycle cost for major capital equipment
  • Skilled in identifying performance-to-cost trade-offs for large-scale deployments
