- Completion of internal and external inspections of boilers, burners, and associated controls that determine function ability and expected service life.
- Schedule preventive maintenance and respond to service calls for assigned customer contract base.
- Diagnose and repair condensing, non-condensing, water tube, fire tube and pulse type boilers.
- Troubleshoot, service, repair, retrofit, and make recommendations as needed to return customer boilers, burners, and controls to fully function condition.
- Participate with 'On Call' service rotation.
- Test and commission new and existing boiler installations.
- Perform routine and annual inspections including cleaning of water and fire sides of boiler.
- Utilize combustion analysis equipment and properly adjust fire control systems to achieve design conditions- Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment.
- Repair and/or replace refractory, gaskets, parts, and miscellaneous controls.
- Assist other technicians as needed.
- Evaluate basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic), gather information, and help solve problems.
