  • Provide computer system expertise to support clients in the Human Resources Branch, the Personnel or the Actuarial Studies Functions in analyzing computer needs and developing appropriate computer systems and applications.
  • Provide technical support, training and expertise to clients to ensure their effective use of computer tools or mathematical methods.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in programming and computer technological advancements, with regards to Human Resources Branch Functions and related activities to ensure their up-to-date methods and techniques are available for their requirements.
  • Provide leadership to clients and support other section staff in the effective use of computer technology.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in HR management in Hydro One.
  • Determine, based on these specifications, appropriate hardware, software & data environments to support the system.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation and software manuals.
  • Work with analysts and programmers to maintain the overall integrity of our data environment.
  • Develop complete system specifications in conjunction with these clients to represent the required applications logic, data flows or actuarial models and simulations, such as, regarding labour negotiations, including benefits proposals, work program budgets details, pension plan evaluation, etc.
  • Where appropriate, indicate to clients’ areas that could benefit from computerization or that are using systems ineffectively.
  • Design, program, test and implement new systems and maintain and enhance existing systems using appropriate computer facilities and techniques.
  • Utilize the full capabilities of the HR Data Environment to ensure the effectiveness of these systems.
