Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Assist with the coordination of activities between contractors, designers, customers, and Port staff.
Assist the Construction Managers and project assistants with the administration of the construction contract.
Work in conjunction with Construction Managers, construction inspectors, and project assistants to inspect project materials, workmanship, and construction areas to ensure compliance with contract specifications, plans, safety requirements, and applicable codes.
Support engineering construction management teams with major construction projects at the Port of Seattle.
Review as-built drawings for accuracy.
Assist the Construction Managers and inspectors in the identification and resolution of project deficiencies. Work in partnership with our contractors to progress construction and ensure project success.

Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

You may be exposed to areas of high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights, and/or in confined spaces.

Experienced – You have some basic engineering or construction management skills, such as the ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, project schedules, and applicable codes.

Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
