Provider of UK housing repairs, maintenance, care services, development and facilities management
As a Branch Administrator you will perform a range of administrative and support tasks to keep the business area running smoothly, including managing callouts, timesheets, payroll and processing MCM jobs through to invoicing. You will also handle internal purchase orders, external invoices, coordinate e‑learning for operatives and subcontractors, and produce reports for clients and the finance team, providing regular updates for weekly branch meetings.
The role supports administrative processes by ensuring accurate and timely recording of all communications in line with standard operating procedures, and by assisting local teams, branches, clients and internal departments with material requisitions, purchase orders and cost data entry to enable work‑order completion and invoicing. Providing a professional customer experience and upholding high health‑and‑safety standards are central to the position, requiring effective collaboration with administrators, operatives, supervisors and subcontractors.
Key criteria include substantial experience in an administrative role—ideally within a branch or office setting—covering correspondence management, diary and meeting organisation, and accurate record keeping. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and a good understanding of other office systems are desirable, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with colleagues, clients and senior leadership. Candidates must have UK work entitlement, meet the driving requirements for Mears vehicles, and be willing to undergo DBS/security checks.
The position offers an annual salary of up to £15,926.99 for a 25‑hour week, working 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Mears Group began 30 years ago as a small maintenance contractor and has grown into a truly national company that strives to make a positive difference wherever it operates.
Benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, access to an Employee Assistance Programme with counselling sessions, a paid volunteering leave, and staff perks through Mears Rewards such as grocery discounts, holiday deals and eye‑test vouchers. Employees also enjoy an annual Mears Fun Day, family‑friendly policies and a Share Save scheme.
