- Assist with drafting, computer modeling, data entry, preparation of construction plans and specifications, technical memos, and reports, as required.
- Provide support to other groups within Stantec, as business needs dictate and workload allows, for exposure to other disciplines and client types related to engineering and environmental science.
- Construction progress reports and communicate with project team, contractor, and client as required.
- Soil and water sampling.
- Serve internal and external clients by being responsive and reliable.
- As an intern, you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to engineering and construction. The primary duties for this internship position will entail construction observation, QA/QC testing, and communication with contractors and clients. The wide variety of tasks you’ll be involved in makes every day interesting by expanding your knowledge as you gain field and office experience. - Strong communication skills and customer service experience are desired.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
- Construction observation and documentation, field testing and field measurements (construction CQA).
- Previous construction observation experience is strongly preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Additional relevant experience is also preferred, including soil testing, surveying, drafting, and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field OR an Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related program.
