What you would be doing

Assist with drafting, computer modeling, data entry, preparation of construction plans and specifications, technical memos, and reports, as required.
Provide support to other groups within Stantec, as business needs dictate and workload allows, for exposure to other disciplines and client types related to engineering and environmental science.
Construction progress reports and communicate with project team, contractor, and client as required.
Soil and water sampling.
Serve internal and external clients by being responsive and reliable.
As an intern, you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to engineering and construction. The primary duties for this internship position will entail construction observation, QA/QC testing, and communication with contractors and clients. The wide variety of tasks you’ll be involved in makes every day interesting by expanding your knowledge as you gain field and office experience. Strong communication skills and customer service experience are desired.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions
Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
Construction observation and documentation, field testing and field measurements (construction CQA).
Previous construction observation experience is strongly preferred.
Valid Driver’s License.
Additional relevant experience is also preferred, including soil testing, surveying, drafting, and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field OR an Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related program.
