  • Ensures building temperatures and humidity are within specified ranges.
  • Cleans duct work as required to ensure system performance.
  • Oversees HVAC functions of the BUILDER SMS data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, and modifies/upgrades HVAC system chillers, air handers, cooling towers, heating units, air conditioners, coils, condensers, boilers/water heaters, furnaces, piping, valves, control systems, etc. (this includes government provided portable chiller units). Additional requirements in AFI 32-1001, Civil Engineer Operations, will be followed.
  • Maintains a water treatment and corrosion control program to control scale, algae, slime, and corrosion on HVAC systems. The contractor shall document water analysis, the quantity of chemicals used, and corrective actions.
  • Transports, connects, and operates government provided portable chiller units as necessary.
  • All HVAC preventive maintenance shall be accomplished in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and/or PMTLs (whichever is more stringent), to ensure safe, functional, efficient, and reliable systems.
  • Maintains appropriate and consistent climate control throughout the base.
  • Performs duct work.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Licensed in accordance with Florida state law unless under the direct supervision of a technician having the appropriate licensure in accordance with Florida State law.
  • Familiarity with basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in a service and maintenance position in the HVAC field and experience with HVAC systems 200 tons or larger.
  • Thorough knowledge of National, State, and Local Building and HVAC Codes.
  • Valid state Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Carrier SER 28, SER 120, SER 130, SER 270, and SER 275 training courses.
  • Valid Universal CFC Certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Thorough knowledge of refrigeration, chillers, HVAC, pneumatics, steam, and condensate systems.
  • Ability to obtain Government credentials that may be required.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
