You will lead large regional teams, ensuring services meet high standards, regulatory requirements and KPI targets, while developing and implementing strategies that align with corporate objectives, local authority priorities and customer needs. The role emphasizes fostering collaboration, professional development, succession planning and encouraging innovation to continuously improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
A key responsibility is ensuring full compliance with the Social Housing Regulator’s Consumer Standards and managing customer complaints in line with Housing Ombudsman guidelines, working closely with internal compliance and governance teams to maintain transparency and accountability.
You will manage budgets for housing management, tenancy sustainment and specialist support services, seeking efficiency improvements and cost savings without compromising quality of service, and allocating resources effectively.
Performance monitoring involves using data and customer feedback to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, producing regular reports for senior leadership and the Board, and reviewing tenancy sustainment, safeguarding and anti‑social behaviour outcomes.
The role is Director of Customer and Communities on a fixed‑term contract of six months, based in Ealing with a negotiable salary and a Standard DBS check requirement.
The position requires a degree or equivalent experience in housing management, social sciences, public administration or a related field, professional housing qualifications (e.g., CIH) or a commitment to obtain them within 12 months, and proven experience leading large multidisciplinary teams, with expertise in safeguarding, ASB, stakeholder engagement and strong analytical and budgeting skills. A full driving licence and willingness to travel across the region are also essential.
