Lead/Senior Estimator

• Drive continuous improvement of estimating systems, tools, and processes.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil works using a first-principles approach.
• Support successful project handovers, including ongoing cost and variation management.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and review competitive pricing.
• Ensure all bids are submitted on time and reflect accurate costings, schedules, and methodologies.
• Mentor and guide junior team members to develop their estimating skills.
• Work closely with other estimators to prepare and submit high-quality, competitive tenders.
• Review contract documentation to ensure compliance with tender requirements.
• Work on a broad range of civil and infrastructure projects
• Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities across tenders and projects.
• Participate in client meetings and support negotiation processes.
• Assess project requirements for labour, plant, and materials to support accurate pricing.

ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Lead / Senior Estimator to join a high-performing team and contribute to the delivery of civil infrastructure and land development projects across the Auckland region.

• Experience in a mid-tier contracting environment (project values $1–15M)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
• 8+ years of experience in civil construction with a strong background in estimating or QS/estimating roles
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management (or equivalent)
• Proficiency in Estimator or other estimating software
• Sound understanding of earthworks, drainage, roading, and subdivision projects
