Pipeline Operator - El Dorado, AR

Description

• Monitor pipeline gauges, meters, and instruments to detect issues and report abnormalities.
• Support pipeline cleaning and pigging operations, operate small pumps, and perform leak repairs.
• Install and paint right‑of‑way markers and maintain lubricants, fluids, and inhibitors for safe equipment operation.
• Adjust manual and automatic valves per instructions from the Operations Manager or SCADA control room, including emergency situations.
• Compile and prepare reports on flow, quality, maintenance logs, corrosion activities, and regulatory compliance.
• Collect product samples from tanks, pipes, and trucks, and record gauge readings for inventory tracking.
• Perform routine inspections, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance using motorized equipment.
• Assist with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance, and support pre‑job planning and permit issuance.
• Operate loading stations, transfer systems, and manual/automatic valves to move product between trucks, tanks, and pipelines.
• Work safely in PPE across temperature extremes, pass medical evaluation for emergency response, and participate in annual Hazwoper refresher training.
• Perform occasional climbing tasks and lift loads up to 50 lb; remain on feet walking 67‑100 % of shift.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required; an equivalent blend of education and experience may be considered. At least one year of related experience is required, and no specific licensure or certification is needed.

• Complete required Operator Qualification (OQ) testing and maintain certifications (FEMA ICS 100/200, Hazwoper 40 hr, First‑Aid/CPR/AED, spill response, boom deployment).
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form, conduct audits, and apply attention‑to‑detail and troubleshooting skills.
• Travel 20‑30 % of time and be available for overtime and overnight assignments.
