The Maintenance Technician A works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. Responsibilities include servicing chassis components, refuse bodies with control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brake systems, engines, HVAC components, and suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
Key duties involve advanced knowledge and skill proficiency in chassis repair, refuse body systems, air and hydraulic brakes, engine maintenance, suspension, drivetrain, steering, heating and air conditioning, and line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. Technicians identify malfunction sources with electronic tools, complete applicable company training, and perform additional job‑related tasks as assigned.
Candidates must have at least three years of experience as a heavy‑duty truck technician and be able to inspect and repair systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions with minimal supervision. ASE Heavy‑Truck certifications (T1‑T8), LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B or higher commercial driver’s license are considered assets.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and offers a $3,000 retention bonus. Pay ranges from $28.50 to $39.22 per hour, varying by locality, and reflects minimum wage requirements across jurisdictions.
