The Surveyor will manage a portfolio of on‑shore renewable projects—including wind, wind repower, BESS and solar—overseeing land acquisition from inception to completion. This includes handling HOTs, acquisitions, land referencing, estates management, rentals and landowner relationship management.
Key duties include leading land‑rights negotiations and preparing Heads of Terms, collaborating with legal and project teams, reviewing and updating legal agreements, and providing valuations and specialist advice on compulsory purchase and technical rights. The role also ensures consistency and risk management across projects, monitors land KPIs, identifies shortfalls and implements mitigation, and oversees JV rights transfer and quality‑assurance procedures. Additional responsibilities involve contributing to due‑diligence for new projects, auditing lease compliance, acting as senior liaison for landowners and project teams, maintaining land data in LMS/SAP RE, generating reports via MS Lists and Power BI, managing financial obligations, and mentoring junior team members.
Candidates must hold a degree in a land‑related discipline and be a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Experience in estates management and acquisition surveying, a solid understanding of the renewables market and its technologies, and a valid driving licence are required.
The Senior Land & Estates Surveyor role is based in Glasgow (G2 5AD) with a salary starting at £57,600 per annum, up to 15% bonus and health cover, and offers flexible hybrid working. The advert closes on 21 January, the day before the automated posting date.
ScottishPower offers a competitive salary reviewed annually, a pension scheme with a 10% company match, 36 days of annual leave, life assurance at four times salary, holiday purchase and share schemes. Additional benefits include technology vouchers, electric‑vehicle and cycle‑to‑work schemes, transport loans, comprehensive healthcare options and various employee discounts. As part of the Iberdrola Group, the company is a global leader in wind energy, committed to net‑zero by 2044 and promoting inclusion, diversity and support for candidates with disabilities.
