Controller

Description

The Controller will report to CFO Matt Mitchell and work closely with the FP&A Lead, operations, hardware, product, and supply‑chain teams to align accounting with forecasting and program management. The position is hybrid at LineVision’s Boston headquarters and offers the chance to shape the financial backbone of a utility‑technology company that blends manufacturing discipline with software‑as‑a‑service offerings, influencing growth during a pivotal stage.

• Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Build, document, and enforce robust financial policies, internal controls, and GAAP compliance.
• Oversee AR/AP, general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Implement and maintain ASC 606 revenue recognition for hardware‑enabled recurring services and multi‑element arrangements.
• Establish and optimize inventory processes, costing methodologies (FIFO, serialized, standard), and cost accounting.
• Partner with engineering and operations on build cycles, BOMs, and manufacturing discipline.
• Improve systems, data integrity, and speed of financial reporting while scaling accounting processes.
• Administer and optimize NetSuite ERP and integrate data flows with HubSpot and other business systems.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual work and enhance reporting quality.
• Collaborate with CFO and FP&A Lead on accounting‑forecast alignment and cross‑functional decision‑making.
• Provide accounting guidance for customer contracts, deployments, and commercial structures.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting and controllership experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606, especially for hardware plus recurring services.
• Hands‑on experience with inventory, manufacturing, and cost accounting.
• Familiarity with NetSuite (ERP) and HubSpot (CRM).
• Proven ability to design, test, and document internal controls.
• Detail‑oriented with strong technical accounting skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Preferred: CPA designation.
• Preferred: Public accounting background (Big 4 or strong regional firm) transitioning to industry.
• Preferred: Experience in hardware, IoT, manufacturing, or hardware‑enabled SaaS settings.
• Preferred: Exposure to capital‑intensive, supply‑chain‑heavy operations and audit support.
