• Inspect work quality to ensure standards and specifications are met
• Assist workers with their duties and resolve problems
• Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations
• Participate in lift plan development and comprehension
• Load, transport, unload and select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves per load requirements
• Signal or verbally direct workers during hoisting and load movement to ensure safety
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment
• Assist other craft workers as needed

Requirements

The Rigger Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activity of Rigger workers to ensure that work is done safely, correctly and timely. Must have knowledge of complex rigging, heavy rigging, crane boom and cable changes, electrical safety, ladder and scaffold safety, lifting machinery, wire rope basics, basic rigging, fire prevention, sizing of chokers, load charts, cutting torches, and blueprint reading. It is highly recommended that all riggers obtain certification from a nationally recognized organization such as NCCER. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and safely operate related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

Physical requirements include the ability to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), repetitive use of hands/arms and legs, hand/eye coordination, and clear communication (hearing, comprehension, speaking) to perform work safely. The role may involve sedentary to heavy tasks, operation of hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic), climbing and maintaining balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders and scaffolds, and frequent grasping, lifting, handling, or carrying objects. It may also require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing/pulling, standing, walking on uneven or muddy surfaces, confined spaces, and exposure to adverse weather conditions.

Mental requirements include effective communication with management, supervision and field workers, reading and writing comprehension for directions and safety policies, and the ability to use math and perform calculations. The job demands working at various tempos, concentrating amid distractions, making decisions, being detail‑oriented, and demonstrating strong leadership and motivational skills.
