Drawing Office Manager – Opportunity Abroad (Lima, Peru)

Lead design team, manage budgets & schedules, oversee multi-discipline plant design projects.

Tasks

-Responsible for resolving disputes in their given discipline. -Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met. -Contribute to engineers in trainings professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development. -Assist with the development of man-hour budgets and design schedules for Study /EPCM estimates. -Facilitate design reviews through the development stages of the project design. -Ensure a high level of communication is attained within the Engineering - Design team. -Monitor the progress and performance of the project design team and give input and provide feedback and support where necessary. -Compile project reporting requirements in accordance with Company and Client standards to a high level of accuracy and professionalism. -Follow and implement all relevant Company standards and procedures and ensure design drawings comply with all relevant Australian and International Standards. -Suggest methods to improve operational efficiency. -Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations. -Review and interpret vendor certified drawings and design data. -Manage subordinates’ review of vendor certified documentation and the dissemination of vendor information to discipline engineers / drafting resources for interface checking. -Management of and responsibility for multi-discipline design and drafting resources assigned to allocated tasks to achieve agreed deliverable dates and manhour budgets. -Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement. -Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Engineering - Design team as required. -Register and file all relevant project documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures.

-Degree or Diploma with focus on Design and Drafting -Demonstrate a sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques in the materials handling industry. -15+ years’ experience in a similar role with relevant industry experience.
