Reporting directly to the Regional or Area Manager, the Community Manager provides full oversight of the assigned property, mentors staff, and ensures that all associates understand and support the corporate mission. The role emphasizes strong attendance, communication skills, relationship building, and professional conduct.
The manager is responsible for fostering a welcoming environment for residents and visitors, overseeing leasing activities, marketing campaigns, rent collection, and the preparation of the annual operating budget. They also handle security deposit administration, vendor compliance, and ensure that maintenance requests are tracked and resolved promptly.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include strong leadership, decision‑making, and multitasking capabilities, as well as a solid understanding of multi‑family property operations, budgeting, and customer service. Candidates must be creative, self‑motivated, diplomatic, and comfortable working flexible hours.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and, where required, a state‑level property or community manager license. A minimum of three years of property management experience is preferred, along with proficiency in OneSite, experience in affordable housing programs, and optional certifications such as ARM or CAM.
The role demands independent travel to conduct property business, the ability to access all areas of the property, and the capacity to work at a computer for at least seven hours daily. A valid driver’s license and the physical ability to navigate multilevel structures are also required.
