A leading construction firm specializing in diverse sectors like infrastructure, commercial, and residential.
In pre‑construction, the Estimator will analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to produce time, cost, and labor estimates for various delivery methods. Responsibilities include accurate quantity takeoffs, developing complete estimates for tenant‑improvement and renovation scopes (e.g., rough carpentry, doors, gypsum board, flooring, painting, data‑center racks), soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor quotes, managing risk and contract aspects of bids, responding to RFQs and RFPs, and monitoring cost comparisons to improve future bidding accuracy.
On the project engineering side, the Estimator will lead contract administration, change‑order processing, material procurement, and financial reporting. They will manage submittals, work plans, and safety protocols for onsite crews in partnership with the Superintendent and foreman, coordinate activities with owners, consultants, and trade partners to maintain schedules, oversee project close‑out tasks such as as‑built drawings, warranties, and final payments, and cultivate relationships with design firms and owners to secure repeat business.
Tekton Building Solutions Group (BSG) is looking for a versatile Estimator who can split time between pre‑construction estimating and managing self‑perform projects. The hybrid role combines quantifying, pricing, and bidding work with on‑site coordination, submittals, and execution, and is ideal for a self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, all‑hands‑on‑deck environment.
Candidates must hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, building science, construction management, or a related discipline, and possess at least four years of construction experience with a general contractor or specialty subcontractor, including direct project management and estimating work. The ideal applicant is resourceful, organized, driven to grow business, demonstrates strong work ethic and leadership, and aligns with Tekton’s three Keys to Success: Enthusiasm & Drive, Delivery & Performance, and Learn & Grow.
The role requires working both in an office and on active construction sites, demanding physical stamina such as standing, walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting materials up to 25 lb regularly and occasionally up to 50 lb. A full range of motion is necessary to perform tasks safely and efficiently in dynamic environments.
Tekton promotes a high‑performance culture that rewards those who embrace challenges, thrive under pressure, and are willing to work extended hours during critical phases or client deadlines. Responsiveness to time‑sensitive matters, including monitoring calls, emails, and texts outside regular hours, is essential for team and project success.
