Accounting Manager

Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, managing the month-end close process, and maintaining strict controls over highly sensitive financial data. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements while supporting leadership with accurate financial reporting and analysis.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and review financial statements and internal management reports.
• Resolve payroll-related questions, discrepancies, and audits.
• Support external audits and work closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation.
• Maintain payroll records, tax filings, and employee data with the highest level of confidentiality.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee information, compensation changes, and benefits deductions.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Experience with accounting and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and payroll regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and data integrity.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience managing or supervising accounting staff is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
