The National Construction Director of Major Projects is an executive leader responsible for a nationwide portfolio of regional megaprojects in data centres, pharmaceutical manufacturing, high‑tech industrial facilities and semiconductor programmes. Reporting to senior leadership, the role provides strategic direction, governance and oversight to four Regional Major Projects Directors, ensuring consistent delivery excellence, commercial performance and technical integrity.
Key duties include establishing programme governance frameworks, defining delivery standards and performance metrics, and aligning regional teams with enterprise strategy. The director shapes long‑term strategy for multi‑billion‑dollar capital programmes, oversees integration of engineering, construction, commissioning and commercial functions, and champions continuous improvement and innovation across the organisation.
On the client side, the director acts as the executive sponsor for national clients, leads high‑level communications, steering committees and strategic alignment sessions, and builds long‑term relationships that drive repeat business and programme expansion. Commercially, the role guides contracting models, procurement planning, financial governance, cost control and claims mitigation, working closely with finance, legal and executive leadership.
The position also carries responsibility for programme‑level risk identification, mitigation and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory, environmental and industry‑specific requirements, and supporting technical governance, QA/QC and commissioning strategies. In addition, the director mentors senior program leaders, develops talent, and fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety and delivery excellence.
Candidates must have 20+ years of experience delivering large‑scale capital projects, including megaprojects in data centres, pharmaceuticals, high‑tech manufacturing or semiconductors, and a proven track record overseeing $1 billion‑plus programmes. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field is required, with preferred qualifications such as MBA or advanced certifications (PMP, CCM, PE) and experience in hyperscale data centre or regulated pharmaceutical environments.
The role offers a base salary starting at $250,000 plus bonus, a flexible and supportive work environment, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
