The role provides pricing and structural support for AEP Energy’s retail electric sales, identifying all cost components such as energy, capacity, transmission, and delivery charges. It determines product structures and sets prices that align with supply costs and established pricing policies while working with large data sets and staying current on market trends across various RTOs.
Key duties include producing accurate, customer‑specific pricing, assisting in the development of pricing strategies and models for marketing campaigns and large accounts, and communicating pricing results to the sales team. The incumbent tracks individual sales requests and margins, documents pricing cycle times and performance metrics, and maintains a close relationship with the sales staff.
In the area of energy risk management, the position supports the Risk Group by ensuring appropriate margins, incorporating correct LDC rates, and validating pricing models. Continuous learning of market fundamentals across multiple LDCs and monitoring supply‑cost fluctuations are also essential responsibilities.
A successful candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, engineering, sciences, or a related field, with 0‑1+ years of experience in a commercial energy environment. Required skills include basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SQL, familiarity with energy markets and regulated utilities, and exposure to Power BI, pricing analytics, or financial modeling through internships or projects.
