Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Critical thinking and decision-making skills are essential to balance customer needs with company cost issues.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Good customer management skills are required in order to maintain customer confidence both internally as well as externally.
Travel domestically as well as internationally.
Ability to write reports of a technical nature and articles for inter-company publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
The tech must be able to understand and troubleshoot PLC network issues that may arise during the work period. This includes Modbus.
Instrumentation loop checking and calibration.
The tech must understand the concepts of a basic, handheld electrical meter and also a handheld HART communicator.
Computer generated reports.
The tech must be familiar with HMIs and HMI terminology. They must be able to make changes and download an HMI based on customer requests with engineering approval.
2-4 or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
High school graduate. Some college preferred. 10 years industry experience. Some form of industry sponsored mechanical analysis training is a plus. Must be computer literate.
Read and understand P & ID and electrical drawings.
Tech MUST be proficient in Allen Bradley software and programming. They must be able to upload and download a program and modify portions of the program per customer request with engineering approval.
Tech should be familiar with the basic process flow. This will eliminate any misunderstandings that could arise in the troubleshooting process.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
