As a Senior Manager / Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Energy Markets Application Services Team, you will lead advanced software development for Power Systems Applications. Your primary focus is delivering specific functionalities that align with corporate project and product objectives, leveraging deep industry, domain, and technical expertise. You will also participate in business development, strategic planning, and the implementation of the GE Vernova GridOS Markets solution.
In this people‑leader role you will combine strong technical capabilities with hands‑on project work, exemplifying high‑quality design, development, testing, and delivery practices. You will enhance, evolve, and support a high‑availability Electricity Energy Market Management System, driving business and talent growth while collaborating with global stakeholders, managers, and SMEs across regions. By fostering a positive, collaborative, and innovative culture, you will guide a team of electricity‑markets software engineers to increase impact on the business. Responsibilities also include collaborating with customers and project teams, supporting sales with technical demos, applying Lean/Agile/XP and CI principles, and managing delivery risks.
The role requires a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) or equivalent, plus 12+ years of experience in the power‑system domain and software development. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for presenting to technical and non‑technical audiences. Hands‑on experience with software for energy exchange or market applications is preferred.
Ideal candidates are highly organized, efficient, and adept at prioritizing and executing tasks, with the ability to break down problems and estimate development effort. They possess a deep understanding of electricity markets, provide constructive feedback, proactively remove obstacles, and take ownership of projects while mentoring the team. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with a continuous‑improvement mindset, are crucial. The ability to drive change initiatives and process improvements is also valued.
