Civil Carpenter / Scaffold Builder

Description

• Install batter boards; safety requirements for building work; and operation of pneumatic and electric power tools
• Cut plywood to fit and nail to platform area
• Secure scaffold to the structure
• Transport tubular scaffold to the site and erect the scaffold to the dimensions required
• Hoist scaffold board to the top section to be used as a working platform and level all sections
• Hammer material to each locking section
• Erects scaffolding for buildings and other structures and install ladders, handrails,
• May rig materials

Requirements

• NCCER Certified Preferred
• Knowledge of standards for acceptable scaffold erection and Civil Carpentry
• General knowledge of OSHA, site, and JEMCI requirements
• Must have tools commonly required for Industrial Civil Carpentry
• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience
• Must have knowledge and ability to build forms and set forms
• Read blueprints; advanced layout; use of Simon forms; layout of anchor bolts
• Finish carpentry work; able to read tape/ruler; set screeds; material takeoff from drawings
