Constantly responsible for the health and safety of others.
Performs a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive tasks associated with electrical design and electro-mechanical testing of new equipment and new product prototypes.
Communicates with internal and external customers.
Performs basic troubleshooting and determines causes for test failures.
Builds, operates and modifies non-standard equipment and test fixtures. May recommend new equipment materials or procedures to improve product quality or reliability.
Travels to various field site locations to assist with evaluation of system start-ups.
Connects cables, and wiring according to standard manufacturing methods and procedures.
Provides technical assistance to other personnel in the operation of computers, electronic equipment and various test applications.
Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder.
Performs mechanical calibration of systems and equipment.
Frequently observes gauges, dials or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly.
Performs first level testing, using standard equipment, and analyzes results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustments.
Repairs a wide variety of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment.
Assists in writing, programming or modifying test specifications using standard procedures and/or computers.
Utilizes Microsoft Excel to enter, manipulate and format text and numerical data; insert, delete and manipulate cells, rows and columns; and create and save worksheets.
Uses advanced electronic test equipment such as waveform analyzer, programmable power supply, etc.
Uses Microsoft Word to type text, format, edit, print, save and retrieve documents.
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions at field sites or suppliers.
Develops fixturing and schematic drawings.
Reads and interprets drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and engineering instructions while applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
Uses Alstom specific computer databases such as SAP to manage large amounts of information, input data, retrieve specific records, and create reports to communicate the information.
