Join the Gilbane team in Atlanta as we continue to expand our work across the Peach State and beyond. This role is for an MEP Manager who will define the MEP execution process, oversee all MEP staff, and work on a single, large construction project, with occasional travel to the Atlanta office for trainings and meetings.
You are a coach and leader who leads with an inclusive and empathetic mindset, providing feedback and guidance to help others excel. You determine priorities, delegate work, communicate progress, and establish measures to assess impact, quality, and timeliness while celebrating successes and sharing lessons learned.
- Approve all MEP and Commissioning schedules
- Assist with the preparation of the GMP
- Supervise MEP subcontracting strategies and originate scopes of work for MEP bid packages and equipment
- Negotiate pricing and change orders with contractors and equipment manufacturers
- Perform MEP constructability (IDC+) and coordination reviews of contract documents
- Provide guidance and approve the MEP contractors' schedule of values
- Define best approach for MEP buyout
- Ensure timely and proper execution of the MEP Coordination Process (BIM)
- Create a project‑specific MEP quality plan and verify its proper execution
- Perform site inspections for MEP compliance with contract documents and manage third‑party inspection process
- Establish and implement controls to identify and correct negative trends affecting the commissioning program
- Communicate regularly with the owner/owner’s representative to understand expectations and ensure customer satisfaction
- Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks
- Manage the workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
- Aid in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports
- Collaborate closely with business development to integrate sales strategies, track performance metrics, and strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 10–15 years related field experience
- OSHA 30‑hour certification or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong scheduling skills with proficiency in scheduling software
- Strong risk management skills
- Ability to manage the quality assurance process for all MEP work
- Ability to create a ‘safety first’ culture with an incident‑ and injury‑free attitude
