First airport in Asia to receive ACI Level 5 accreditation for emissions management.
31-acre MRO Facility
Expansion Initiative
Recent MOU for a 31-acre MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility.
  • Launched in 2008 through India’s first private-sector greenfield airport PPP, the company brought a new era of modern air travel to Bengaluru.
  • Structured under a public limited company, it manages one of India’s busiest airports.
  • Its hallmark projects include the futuristic Terminal 2, a cargo village, and advanced cold-chain logistics facilities.
  • Specialising in aviation, transport infrastructure, and cargo, it innovates with IoT-powered temperature monitoring and open-access fuel operations.
  • A standout moment: first airport in Asia to receive ACI Level 5 accreditation for emissions management, and host of AWS-Intel joint innovation centre.
  • It continues expanding — recent MOUs include metro station integration — reinforcing its role as a tech-driven gateway.

Houses over 3,600 plant species, including rare and endemic varieties, as part of biodiversity efforts.
  • First airport in Asia to achieve ACI Level 5 accreditation (May 5, 2024).
  • Committed to becoming net-zero on all GHG emissions by 2050 (including Scope 3).
  • Converted all airfield and perimeter lighting to LEDs; fully LED-powered South Runway.
  • Achieved net energy neutral status in FY 2020-21: saved ~2.2 M kWh (lighting + HVAC), produced ~22 L units, met 98% of energy needs via renewables in FY 2021-22.
  • Installed utility-scale solar (rooftop and ground): total ~6.8 MW onsite, plus PPAs (solar 40 M units, wind 20 M units per year).
  • Zero-landfill target: currently ~90–95% of 25–30 tonnes/day waste recycled; upcoming biomethanation plant (operational by Dec 2024) to handle 55–60% organic waste in-house.
  • Plastic circularity: eliminated single-use plastics; repurposed ~2.5–3 t/day plastic waste—used in roads (6% bitumen replacement over 70 km).
  • Water stewardship: rainwater recharge ponds (37,500 cum), 315 recharge pits; STP with 2 MLD capacity + 3 MLD upcoming; reclaimed water used for irrigation and AC.
  • IGBC Platinum rating for Terminal 2: key metrics include 37% potable water reduction, 6.5 MW solar PV (~16.7% of terminal’s annual energy), 31% landscape area, IoT-based irrigation, biophilic 'Terminal in a Garden'.
