Senior Transportation Design Engineer

WSP provides engineering, design, and consulting services across diverse sectors worldwide.
Lead transportation design projects for municipal, transit, and private developments in BC.
Overseeing and conducting site plan reviews for several projects ranging from small to large developments to ensure each site functions well based on municipal design standards, including parking and loading.
Preparing and contributing to transportation studies for provincial and municipal roads, transit planning studies, conceptual plans, functional and or conceptual design, as well as functional and preliminary design activities.
Collaborating with a team of transportation/traffic engineers, planners, and designers, as well as other technical disciplines, in developing and implementing multi-modal planning and design solutions.
Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to design standards and best practices.
Supervise, train, and mentor junior and intermediate employees.
Liaising with clients, project team members, technical agencies, and road authorities regarding project requirements in developing creative and effective solutions.
Lead the delivery of construction and traffic management plans for projects following BC MOTT, Transportation Association of Canada (TAC), and municipal design standards.
Participating in business development initiatives, including conducting research, preparing input for proposals, and coordinating input from the multi-disciplinary team; and
Lead the delivery of Transportation Design projects, including Municipal, Transit, and Private Development projects.

Minimum 8 years of progressive Transportation design related experience
Leadership and coordination abilities working within a team environment
Strong communication skills (writing and presentations)
Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Transportation Engineering
Experience with Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
Experience in transportation software and methods (e.g. Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, CCG, VISSIM, Aimsun) is an asset
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently.
Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia (P. Eng.)
Experience using AutoCAD and AutoTURN is an asset
