Digital Design Engineer

To effectively manage through the design of, and completely own the production of Revit models for secured projects and the production of elevations, sections and standard details all relating to cold rolled steel systems. Work closely with engineering and document control to ensure all projects are a collaborative effort.

• Organizing and maintaining the Revit model, including file structure, naming conventions, and version control, to ensure efficient collaboration and workflow management. This includes verifying dimensions, member sizes, connections, and other critical details.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with changes in industry relating to the ‘golden thread’ of construction information.
• Facilitate technical development by coordinating with various disciplines and project teams, aiding the design coordinator.
• Working in and leading cross functionality with different teams.
• Assist with compliance to the UK BIM Framework.
• Liaising with all relevant members of the internal & external project design team and the client(s) verbally and in writing – through face-to-face meetings, Teams meetings, and electronic written format.
• Ensure that there is effective and efficient control of project related documents in all instances.
• Keep abreast of competitors technical offerings, and benchmark best practice.
• Be a key member of the internal design team.
• Creating detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, and other documentation based on the Revit model to communicate the steel framing design to contractors and fabricators. Verify that all annotations, dimensions, and notes are clear and consistent.
• Generating accurate material take-offs and quantities from the Revit model to assist with cost estimation and procurement. Address any discrepancies promptly to avoid material shortages or overages during construction.
• Support marketing of technical data (website content, brochures, seminars, trade shows etc…)
• Assist with compliance with CDM 2015 in relationship to project coordination activities.
• Provide support to and assist in the development of quality procedures within the overarching department.
• Assist alongside engineer and document control in the coordination, control & distribution of drawings, documents and other project specific data received electronically – via email or online storage portals – to the relevant internal teams as required.
• Using Revit's clash detection tools to identify and resolve any conflicts between the steel framing system and other building components, such as HVAC ductwork. Regularly review clash reports and implement necessary adjustments to prevent conflicts during construction.
• Produce fully detailed models of steelwork using Autodesk Revit software.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE PROFICIENT WITH REVIT AND HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH STEEL FRAMING SYSTEMS.

• Capable of owning all aspects of the Revit model production working closely with the engineering and document control to ensure key dates are meet.
• HNC or relevant industry experience.
• Capable of fully understanding architectural and engineering drawings.
• Able to read, understand and interpret the clients design requirements and provide a solution utilising the Hadley systems.
• Ideally 3 years' experience using Revit software to develop cold rolled steel drawings and details
