Reporting to the Group Financial Control Director, you will manage a team of four—one qualified Management Accountant and three part-qualified Assistant Management Accountants. You will act as a key link between Financial Control and FP&A, ensuring that monthly actuals are delivered with clarity and precision.
- Guide the team in completing tasks such as cashbook reconciliations, staff expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and review general ledger journals, including prepayments and accruals
- Produce and format ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
- Conduct analytical reviews of monthly results and provide variance commentary
- Maintain and improve the month-end timetable across Financial Control
- Coordinate and manage the month-end close process using FloQast, including presenting draft results to senior finance stakeholders
- Manage intercompany transactions and related journal entries
- Contribute to other finance-related projects and initiatives
- Support year-end statutory accounts and audit processes
- Collaborate with FP&A to resolve queries and produce the management accounts pack
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances
- Lead and develop a team of four, fostering growth and continuous improvement

If you are a collaborative finance professional with a passion for accuracy and leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
- Qualified accountant, CIMA, ACA, or ACCA or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Aareon QL is beneficial
- Proven experience in preparing management accounts and leading a team
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights
- Strong understanding of month-end close processes and financial reporting
