Attend job site meetings to gather scope of work.
Assist with the development of substation P&C and/or physical design, including the preparation of field notes, drawings, specifications, and estimates.
Communicate and coordinate project activities with project manager, client, and others as needed.
Assist with engineering calculations such AC and DC load calculations required to properly size auxiliary systems.
Utilize client and/or company information system to track and update design activities.
Perform careful self-checking activities to ensure the quality of work before it is presented to senior design reviewers.
Ensure all designs conform to our client’s and industry standards.
Assist with engineering calculations such as conduit and bus sizing, lighting & lightning analysis, and grounding grid analysis.
Prepare computer assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.
May provide field support during construction.

The ability to move freely for up to 8 hours per day.
Basic analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
The ability to sit/ stand for up to 8 hours per day.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET approved college or university.
Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with substation design and construction standards for electric utilities in California is highly desirable.
1 - 3 years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in electrical engineering preferred but not required.
