Electrical Engineer

Description

• Design data and structured cabling systems, ensuring compliance with TIA/EIA and BICSI standards for telecommunications and networking infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively with junior engineers, designers, and CAD/BIM teams to ensure quality and consistency across projects.
• Create fire alarm system designs, including device layouts, riser diagrams, in compliance with NFPA 72.
• Develop lighting designs using industry standards and lighting design software (e.g., Agi32, Visual, or Dialux) to ensure compliance with IES recommendations.
• Provide technical support to proposal teams, assisting with design input and project feasibility assessments.
• Contribute to cost estimates, system calculations, and technical specifications for project designs.
• Design and specify switchgear, panelboards, transformers, and other distribution equipment to meet project requirements.
• Perform arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies using SKM Power*Tools to ensure electrical system safety and compliance.
• Apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant codes to design and evaluate electrical systems, including load calculations, conductor sizing, grounding, overcurrent protection device (OCPD) sizing, conduit fill, and equipment clearances.
• Assist in reviewing and approving electrical design drawings to ensure they meet specifications, client requirements, and regulatory codes.
• Collaborate with engineers, field staff, and contractors to develop installation details aligned with project needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 0-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in commercial, industrial, or healthcare environments.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
