The Manager Digital Initiatives will lead a high‑performing team to deliver complex, multi‑million‑dollar digital change for New Zealand’s land transport system. The role is based in Wellington, Auckland or Palmerston North and works closely with delivery teams and senior leaders to accelerate digital delivery.
Key responsibilities include overseeing a large digital portfolio, ensuring robust governance, strategic alignment and performance insights. You will lift portfolio maturity by simplifying governance, champion Agile and P3M methodologies, and manage financial forecasting and reporting to support investment decisions. Building and developing a high‑performing team while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships is also essential.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading complex programmes or projects at scale, with a proven track record of managing multi‑million‑dollar portfolios, budgeting and providing meaningful insights. Strong influencing skills, strategic problem‑solving, systems thinking and empathetic leadership are required, alongside relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications such as PMP, Prince2 or Agile. A commitment to Te Ao Māori, tikanga, Te Reo Māori and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is also essential.
