Employees prepare vinyl lineals for production using a lamination process. They saw and machine vinyl and metal with CNC saws and mills. They also assemble windows and patio doors.
Skilled production team members are self‑motivated and work with minimal supervision. They are process‑driven, focusing on continuous improvement, and assist co‑workers in analyzing and correcting problems to follow standard operating procedures.
Manufacturing and office areas are climate‑controlled, and the role requires standing or walking up to 10 hours per day and lifting 25‑50 lb regularly (occasionally up to 75 lb as a team lift). Employees must wear appropriate PPE, meet production rates, read tape measures to 1/32 in, perform quality inspections, maintain a clean work area, and may be required to work overtime.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a stable work history and preferably 2–3 years of manufacturing experience. Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication, proven problem‑solving and organizational abilities, basic conflict‑resolution skills, and the ability to multitask professionally in a diverse team environment.
The primary role of Skilled Production is to perform tasks with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Level 1 Skilled production starts at $20.92/hr with benefits, Level 2 at $21.80/hr, and Level 3 (Glazing) at $22.68/hr, all with benefits.
Investing in people is a core value, and JELD‑WEN provides competitive compensation and benefits such as medical and dental coverage, generous leave policies, and retirement programs. Benefits may vary by region but aim to attract and retain great talent.
