Key duties include carrying out planned preventative maintenance and inspections on fixed plant and associated equipment, diagnosing faults, and completing repairs to minimise downtime. The role involves monitoring equipment condition, reporting findings, recommending improvements, and supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives such as equipment modifications and root‑cause analysis. Accurate maintenance records are maintained in the site management system, while high standards of housekeeping, safety, and HSEQ compliance are upheld, including the preparation of RAMS and Safe Systems of Work. Collaboration with maintenance, production, and operations teams ensures smooth and safe site operations.
The ideal candidate has prior mechanical or maintenance experience in a heavy‑industrial environment and is eager to build a career in reliability. They are proactive, enjoy identifying problems before they arise, and are comfortable working the 7‑on/7‑off shift pattern. The opportunity is based onsite at Glensanda, the largest granite quarry in Europe, operating on a 7‑on/7‑off shift pattern. Free en‑suite accommodation with a canteen, gym, sauna, and games room is provided, or staff can commute daily via the Holcim UK ferry from Benderloch. The Reliability Operative will support production and ship‑loading operations across the impressive 6,000‑acre site.
