- Excavate around water and sewer infrastructure;
- Demonstrate the skills needed to troubleshoot, quickly diagnose a situation, and choose the appropriate action needed to mitigate the situation
- Inspect and evaluate condition of systems; diagnoses leaks, blockages or other problems;
- Perform related activities: saw cuts driveways, sidewalks, curbs, and roads during repair;
- Install, maintain, repair, and replace water meters, water and/or sewer lines and related appurtenances
- Locates manholes, service connections, valves and other utilities
- Adhere to established safety procedures: monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees, other individuals, equipment, and property;
- Flag and directs traffic and places markers, signs and cones around project or work site to ensure safety of crew and the traveling public; and wears personal protective equipment.
- Assist with the installation/repair of new sewer taps and/or water service lines
- Gather tools and equipment needed to complete work activities; picks up and transports materials, tools and supplies;
- Assist with the preparation and restoration of landscape, property, and other areas to preconstruction conditions that are disrupted as a result of repair work;
- Perform confined space entries into permit required confined spaces as needed;
- Install appropriate repair fittings;
- Clear debris from manholes, water and sewer lines, sewer stream crossings, easements, valve boxes, etc.

- The ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, odors, sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
- Must be able to stand and perform strenuous tasks for hours at a time as well as meet physical demand requirements that are at levels of those for active work
- 1 year of related work experience
- Must be able to perform physical labor as well as move or carry related objects or materials
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of job related machines
- Travel between CERM office and various project sites as required
- Available for 24-hour on call services during a work shift as needed
- Must possess and maintain the following certifications within six months of hire: Confined Space Entry, Trenching and Excavation, and Flagger.
- Must be detail oriented and can follow safety procedures close and maintain accurate records of the work performed
- The ability to communicate orally.
- Possess the aptitude to work with other and take instruction
- High school diploma/General Equivalency Diploma(GED)
- 100% field environment
