Description

The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator joins a collaborative, global Human Resources team that supports Waga Energy’s US subsidiary while working closely with colleagues in France and Canada. The role focuses on accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, HR record‑keeping, and various HR projects for a multinational organization.

• Process semi‑monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
• Manage payroll adjustments such as retroactive pay, reimbursements, and garnishments.
• Prepare payroll reports for accounting and corporate HR teams as needed.
• Present the employee benefits package to new hires and support onboarding.
• Coordinate enrollments, changes, and terminations across health, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) plans; reconcile monthly invoices and support ACA reporting.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on all benefits‑related inquiries.
• Work with benefits vendors to resolve plan and claim issues.
• Lead the annual plan renewal and open enrollment process, including communication and employee support in partnership with the benefits broker.
• Maintain confidential employee records and ensure all documentation meets federal and state requirements (I‑9, W‑4, policy acknowledgments, etc.).
• Assist with US work visa applications and renewals in coordination with the HR Director and external immigration attorney.
• Support updates to the Employee Handbook and other policy‑compliance activities.
• Maintain and audit employee data within the HRIS to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in implementing corporate‑level HR processes, policies, programs, and tools alongside the global HR team.

Requirements

• Possess 3–5 years of payroll, benefits, and HR administration experience, preferably in a multi‑state environment.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrate foundational knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws affecting payroll and benefits.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across global teams.
