Key duties include troubleshooting and resolving WAN incidents, participating in off‑shift and weekend rotations, and implementing new WAN circuits for facilities and partners. The incumbent will configure and maintain Cisco IOS and Silver Peak devices, collaborate with telecom vendors and cloud teams, assist in WAN design changes, perform security monitoring and vulnerability mitigation, manage software upgrades, and optimize performance through QoS and routing configurations.
- Support global WAN connectivity for facilities, dealers, suppliers, and business partners.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production WAN incidents, including off‑shift and weekend rotations.
- Implement new WAN connections such as facility circuits, dealer links, supplier integrations, and partner networks.
- Configure, maintain, and test Cisco IOS and Silver Peak SD‑WAN devices for sites and data centers.
- Collaborate with telecommunications vendors to install and activate WAN circuits.
- Design and implement cloud connectivity solutions with cloud providers and internal teams.
- Assist senior staff with WAN design changes and manage complex multi‑component projects independently.
- Perform security monitoring, log analysis, vulnerability triage, and mitigation actions.
- Execute software upgrades for Cisco IOS, Silver Peak edge devices, and orchestrator platforms.
- Manage QoS, underlay/overlay routing, and egress configurations to optimize network performance.

Ideal candidates possess strong WAN/SD‑WAN expertise with Cisco and/or Silver Peak, solid network troubleshooting abilities, and experience working with telecom and cloud partners. Preferred qualifications include a relevant degree or certification, hands‑on Cisco WAN experience, Silver Peak SD‑WAN experience, knowledge of BGP, OSPF, DMVPN, scripting skills in Python, and familiarity with cloud‑based networking solutions.
- Possess strong WAN/SD‑WAN expertise with Cisco and/or Silver Peak technologies.
- Demonstrated network troubleshooting skills across circuits, routing, and device configurations.
- Experience collaborating with telecom providers, cloud teams, and cross‑functional technical groups.
- Familiarity with security best practices, vulnerability management, and log analysis.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple priorities.
- Relevant degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in WAN networking.
- Hands‑on Cisco WAN experience and certifications in routing/switching.
- Experience configuring and supporting Silver Peak SD‑WAN hardware and software.
- Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, and VPN technologies like DMVPN.
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation.
Benefits
The position is primarily based in East Peoria, IL (with options in Dallas, TX, or Nashville, TN), requires onsite work five days a week, and does not offer relocation or sponsorship.
