Responsible for monitoring and recording sickness absence management and poor performance within the business, coaching managers to progress their cases through all stages of the procedure.
Improve manager capability by identifying where local managers need coaching and support with HR procedures, delivering workshops or local coaching sessions as required and evaluating its effectiveness.
Maintain reporting systems and provide management information when requested, to ensure consistency of approach and outcome.
Manage all case work following HR policy and procedures, tracking progress following defined timescales. Offering solutions to move cases to a conclusion.
Provide advice to managers on aspects of employment law, terms and conditions, HR policy and procedures.
Demonstrate positive customer service behaviours through the provision of a seemless HR Operational service to the business, ensuring that cover is provided when colleagues are absent. All issues raised via phone, face to face and email are acknowledged and responded to within a timely manner.
The HR Advisor will work with Trade Union and employee representatives, HRBPs and Stakeholders (management and supervisory level).
Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures and participating on working groups when requested.
Support managers with resolving governance and audit findings.
Ensure that all case management is recorded on HR systems to support weekly management reporting.
Manage relationships with Trade Union and employee representatives, to ensure effective case management processes
Perform the welfare co-ordinator and/or call agent roles as advised during system emergencies.
Undertake project work and tasks as assigned by the HR Operations Manager, providing regular updates on progress and timelines.
Support Managers with the management of long-term sickness together with Occupational Health advice.
Ensure SAP HR is updated and maintained.
Daily interfaces will be with managers who require support from the HR Operations team on people management policies and procedures.
Use SAP to compile and analyse reports.
For those trained, participate in job evaluation panels when requested.
Provide advice, guidance, documentation and structured case management support to business managers.
Validate and quality check all employment change requests submitted by managers through My UKPN and any queries are discussed with the HR Operations Manager before approving.

You will be able to build relationships and influence at all levels whilst communicating with a diverse client group

You will have experience dealing with a range of complex HR issues and be able to apply relevant techniques to situations gained from previous HR generalist and/or operational roles
You must be Chartered Member of the CIPD or undertaking CIPD studies with previous HR experience.
