This role will be responsible for definition of NSPS product offering for power plant control and data acquisition systems specifically focused on utility scale storage and PV + storage applications. This position supports the creation of a new in-house PPC offering utilizing existing control & communication architecture while leveraging ready-to-use providers in the space. This position will work closely with NSPS’s SCADA Engineering team in System Integration and Project Development teams. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position in a fast-growing team with an opportunity to contribute to overall business strategy and product vision. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with demonstrated success in a consulting/advisory role for cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with plant’s EPC teams to understand the solutions and evaluate PPC onboarding and functionalities.
- Act as the subject matter expert for industry best practices, regulations, compliance, and standards around PPC/ SCADA- NERC CIP, NIST, NERC Mod, applicable IEC and IEEE standards.
- Support the controls in defining system architecture, partner & component selection.
- Define detailed features and functions for Utility scale PPC solution including Plant control.
- Define the test and certification requirements for PPC solutions and be able to offer PPC revamps and troubleshooting.
- Provide training and support to NovaCommand, team member and On-site team.

We are seeking an experienced SCADA & Control Engineer at NovaSource Power Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SCADA and Control systems.
- Familiarity with project lifecycle and contract structures for solar, storage or renewable projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with Ignition.
- Understands the value of hypotheses, experimentation, and learning.
- Master’s Degree or higher in Power System, Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering.
- Understanding of Power plant modeling tools and model creation in PSSE, PSCAD or similar tool.
- 3+yrs. product/ project management experience with PPC/SCADA products or deployment.
- Strong understanding of network communication architectures, protocols, NERC standards.
- Product management experience and feature definition experience preferred.
- Able to convert complex technical requirements into an actionable plan.
- 5+ yrs. experience as design engineer, applications engineer for PPC/SCADA.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in pressure situations.
- This position has primary focus in ERCOT, CAISO and ISO NE markets and will eventually require understanding of additional US ISOs / RTO’s.
- Demonstrated experience with SEL RTAC, Modicon M340, Rockwell PLC programming.
- At least 5 proven PPC projects and commissioning for Utility Power Plants.
- Strong work & teamwork ethic.
- Field experience deploying Solar/ storage/ wind PPC/ & SCADA system in US market.
- Own long term product roadmap, prioritization, and definition of product features for internal product offerings.
