The position serves primarily as an online and outage job sponsor for supplemental workforce and technical support, acting as the subject‑matter expert for field problems within the protected nuclear area. Responsibilities include analyzing data, coordinating with multiple groups, and delivering safe, timely resolutions for plant equipment maintenance and outage activities.
Key duties encompass budgeting for the job‑task area, overseeing program performance, developing improvement strategies, and serving as the site SME for code and technical evaluations. The incumbent will liaise with engineering, operations, and external regulators such as the NRC, INPO, and EPRI, while leading assessment and benchmarking efforts and providing technical direction to complex evolutions.
Required qualifications include a High School or GED plus ten years of related work experience, with at least three years in an operating nuclear station environment. Preferred credentials are a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an Associate’s in Instrumentation Engineering Technology, strong valve knowledge, and demonstrated project‑management and leadership abilities.
The role primarily involves office work with extended computer use, but also requires plant visits that may account for up to half of the time during outages. Employees must be prepared for flexible schedules, including night, weekend, and on‑call response, and may encounter temperature extremes, noise, radiation, heights, and occasional climbing or crawling.
