Reviews and provides comments to design documents as required.
Tracks contractor’s outage critical path performance and alerts project management of schedule conflicts and/or schedule performance that would negatively impact the planned outage.
Identifies issues and concerns with contractors’ construction performance. If issues are identified, the position is responsible for investigating and recommending corrective actions. Engages management and engineering on an as needed basis if additional support is required to address contractors’ construction performance.
Mentors and motivates construction coordinators to aid in development while fostering a cohesive and productive team.
Assists in the development of construction coordinator work schedules.
Coordinates work between multiple contractors and Company operations and advises management of potential issues and/or concerns as they are identified.
Ensure daily observations are thorough and accurate.
Documents daily contractor activities through written descriptions and photographs of work.
Coordinates compliance with Company Policy, such as LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc.
Monitors performance of contractors and contractor personnel to ensure safety and industry best practices are being met. Recommends corrective actions in the field when safety performance is found to be unacceptable.
Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders by interfacing with company personnel, customers, all contractors, and Project Engineering.
Responsible for observing contractors’ construction activities, of assigned projects, at any facility within LG&E and KU.
Monitors contractor work for compliance with contract schedule, specifications, and quality requirements.
Complies with all policies and standards
Coordinates the interface between other departments served or impacted by a particular project and the contractors relative to the construction activities of the project (i.e., providing services regarding safety, protection of company property, site regulations, schedule review or development, material deliveries, progress reports, and miscellaneous administrative actions).
Takes an active role in applying lessons learned to improve future performance (internal and external).
Assist Safety Specialist with investigating contractor accidents, reviewing accident reports, and recommending corrective action. Reviews contractor’s plans and controls for construction activities to provide an accident-free workplace.

Ten years of supervisory/project experience is preferred. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Operational or QA/QC experience is preferable. Strong preference for certification in project management or other specialized training from an external institution and demonstrated advanced construction management skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with management, contractors, and their employees.
Above average working knowledge of project accounting.
Proficient in use of project management software. (Microsoft Projects, Primavera, etc.)
Advanced skills in construction drawing interpretation.
