Finance Senior Test Analyst - SAP

Design and make software for architecture, engineering, construction, and entertainment industries.
Senior Finance Analyst leading UAT and QA for SAP finance ERP systems.
Provide expertise in business processes and financial operations to validate functionality, stability, usability, and performance of ERP systems
Participate in the planning, development, execution, and maintenance of test strategies with an emphasis on early detection of defects that impact finance business users
Collaborate with Engineering to review end-to-end (E2E) testing validations from a Finance perspective. Provide targeted feedback to enhance the process by identifying areas of significant concern
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure complete testing coverage
Work with development teams to prioritize, resolve and retest issues
Support continuous improvement by recommending better tools, processes, and practices for UAT activities
Develop and maintain automated test scripts to increase efficiency and repeatability
Create and maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, test scripts, and results
Document and maintain test results to assist in debugging and system modification
Integrate financial insights into the UAT process to ensure that financial systems, ERP functionalities and reporting meet business requirements and user expectations
Assist mapping requirements to test cases
Design and execute test cases to identify defects and ensure software meets business requirements and user expectations
Collaborate with business users and IT teams to plan and coordinate UAT activities, ensuring financial systems meet user requirements and business objectives
Use QA engagement to prepare for User Acceptance Testing
Educate the engineering team on critical systems that require thorough review and explain their importance to Finance stakeholders. Foster alignment between Finance and Engineering validations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure testing activities comply with established standards, processes, and schedules for high-quality software delivery
Track and report on testing progress and defect resolution, ensuring timely issue resolution
Leverage financial and accounting expertise to enhance the UAT process by understanding and analyzing system outputs, thereby providing critical insights for decision-making
Coordinate and conduct UAT sessions with business users, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with user needs
Verify successful deployment of software enhancements and bug fixes, ensuring they meet acceptance criteria
Manage the UAT sign-off process for SOX audits, ensuring timely delivery of test artifacts and explanations for audit purposes
Ensure compliance with accounting rules and policies, preparing information for financial analysis and reporting
Apply knowledge of accounting rules and policies to ensure compliance during the UAT process, preparing accurate financial information for analysis and reporting
Simulate user experience, provide feedback on design improvements, and ensure seamless integration of new features within the system architecture
Utilize finance training to aggregate and manipulate financial data, generating comprehensive reports that support strategic planning and enhance the effectiveness of UAT
Ensure all UAT and financial activities comply with regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices
Attend workshops, design reviews, demos and program meetings during PST hours. During UAT attend daily hand-off sessions during PST hours to share results and concerns about testing activities.

Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate business requirements into business use cases
Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SAP ERP systems, financial management software, quality assurance tools, and testing methodologies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CPA, , CMA, Certified Quality Analyst are preferred
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong drive for results
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate accounting, corporate financial analysis, and/or business systems QA, with significant expertise in SAP Financials and Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) and Management Reporting (MR)
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
