The Utility/Grounds Worker is assigned to the Daly Field location and is responsible for maintaining the field house, locker rooms, and surrounding grounds. Duties include cleaning facilities and preparing fields before athletic events.
Daily tasks involve sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom and trainer room sanitation, spot‑washing walls, restocking paper and soap, emptying trash, high‑dusting, and cleaning vents while reporting any deficiencies. Additional responsibilities include trash removal, landscaping duties such as weekly lawn mowing, weed edging, and operating leaf or snow blowers as needed.
The worker must set up and dismantle event equipment, manage fence installations, inspect and maintain the pitching mound and turf field each morning, and ensure the grounds are free of litter and debris. Coordination with sub‑contractors, record‑keeping, and self‑inspection to maintain a safe environment are also required.
Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 lb, work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. A valid driver’s license, successful completion of a C&W Services background check, and flexibility for weekend, overtime, and mandatory winter snow removal are essential.
The position works Tuesday through Saturday with flexible hours that adjust to the athletics schedule (8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 12:00 PM–8:30 PM) and a Saturday shift from 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. It is classified as a Grounds/Utility role.
Compensation ranges from $21.42 to $25.20 per hour, and the role includes a comprehensive benefits package covering health, vision, dental, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, and paid time off.
