The role involves constructing panels from layout drawings and schematics, mechanically assembling components, routing and terminating wiring, and performing testing and basic troubleshooting to meet QA/QC standards. The technician must also maintain accurate documentation, keep tools and drawings organized, and participate in training as new products and processes are introduced.
- Build and wire control panels from layout drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
- Mechanically assemble components onto backplates and install completed panels into enclosures.
- Route, bundle, and dress wiring neatly through wireways or harnessed bundles.
- Terminate conductors to terminal blocks, relays, controllers, power supplies, breakers, drives, and other components.
- Perform testing according to procedures, troubleshoot, and correct issues to meet QA/QC requirements.
- Accurately complete assembly, wiring, and testing documentation.
- Maintain tools, drawings, and records in an organized and controlled manner.
- Participate in training for new products and processes.
- Lift and move materials and assemblies up to 70 lb repeatedly.

The position is located in Jacksonville, FL (32210) and reports to the Building Automation department. Brooks Building Solutions is looking for a detail‑oriented Panel Builder / Control Panel Technician to assemble and wire electrical control panels in a production shop environment. Candidates with panel‑building experience from any industry are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should have at least a high school diploma and preferably two years of experience building or wiring industrial control panels. Strong ability to read electrical schematics, solid mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with hand and small power tools are required. The candidate must be organized, detail‑focused, safety‑conscious, self‑motivated, and able to communicate effectively in English. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 70 lb, climb stairs, and work in a manufacturing setting; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also needed.
