- Install telematics system and devices on vehicles, construction and heavy equipment, and customer assets
- Operate machinery for testing purposes during installation
- Remove and replace ignition systems without custom keypad, then integrate communication between keypad and telematics
- Handle installation scenarios from basic power/ignition/ground to complex custom wiring harnesses for CAN networks
- Identify, analyze, and resolve problems; develop alternative solutions when needed
- Travel to client sites or EquipmentShare rental yards within the region for installations
- Advocate for the EquipmentShare platform and brand while on the job and in the field
- Occasionally work outside business hours and on weekends

We need a Telematics Installer at our Columbia, SC rental facility who is ready to grow, bring energy and drive, and help build the future of construction. Installers install and repair our telematics system and devices.
EquipmentShare is an EOE (M/F/D/V). Employment is contingent on a background check, and some roles also require a drug test depending on job responsibilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Trade School Certificate preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude; proficient with hands and tools
- Relevant experience (e.g., electrician, HVAC tech, car audio installer)
- Mobile electronics installer experience
- Automotive electronics technician experience
- 12 V technician experience
- No prior telematics experience required; training provided
- Own tools; specialty tools supplied as needed
- Excellent attention to detail
- Clean driving record and ability to pass background check
- Willingness to travel up to 250 mi from local branch for up to a week
- Physical ability to drive, maneuver in tight spaces, bend, squat, walk long distances, and lift >25 lb
- May need to be clean‑shaven for certain worksites
- Safety‑sensitive position; must pass a 10‑panel drug screen
Benefits
Schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On‑call weekends occur only in special circumstances.
