QC Analyst

Description

The Scientific In‑sourcing team supplies QC analysts and technical support on‑site to meet client staffing needs, adhering to strict technical and GMP standards to ensure medication safety. The role of QC Analyst involves testing pharmaceutical raw materials and drug substances in a GMP laboratory, primarily using GC and HPLC techniques along with other methods as required.

• Train other analysts when appropriately qualified.
• Conduct testing according to valid procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform scheduled calibrations.
• Manage inventory and status of materials required for analysis.
• Verify and review results generated by other analysts for compliance (when qualified).
• Ensure correct data entry into LIMS.
• Assess testing results and close out batch analysis.
• Meet target dates, update visibility tools and communicate testing status at meetings.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in the laboratory.
• Produce accurate lab records, ensuring work is completed right first time and on time.
• Write and maintain documentation such as SOPs, methods, and reports.
• Collaborate with the team to exceed customer expectations and support key performance indicators.
• Notify appropriate contacts and document atypical results and investigations.
• Lead laboratory investigations and deviations when required.
• Maintain a safe, audit‑ready working environment.
• Identify and implement safety, environmental, quality, and service improvements.
• Work with the leader to ensure self‑development and progression.
• Follow health and safety policies, company code of integrity, and equality & diversity policy.

Requirements

• Receive training from SGS and client and become proficient in relevant analytical techniques.
• Science degree in Chemistry or equivalent (minimum Level 7).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a GMP laboratory.
• Strong data integrity and knowledge of analytical technologies (HPLC, GC, KF, IR, PSD, X‑ray, wet chemistry).
• Proficient with lab computer systems, including LIMS and Trackwise.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time‑management and attention to detail.
• Compliance with SGS and client policies and procedures.
