In this role you will design, develop, and test power electronics for future electrified systems, covering AC/DC and DC/DC converters, chargers, inverters, EMI filters, and bus bar specifications. You will perform PCBA circuit simulation, schematic creation, layout, and conduct design reviews while ensuring compliance with global industry standards.
Collaboration is central: you will work closely with systems, software/controls, and mechanical teams to translate system‑level requirements into component‑level designs, creating modular and scalable architectures applicable across low‑ and high‑voltage platforms. You will also lead specification, validation, and upgrade efforts, applying robust technical fundamentals to optimize performance, quality, DFM/DFA and cost.
- Create and validate power electronics solutions for electrified systems, including converters, chargers, and inverters.
- Conduct PCBA circuit simulation, schematic drafting, layout design, and thorough design reviews.
- Partner with systems, software/controls, and mechanical groups to convert system requirements into component designs.
- Develop modular, scalable architectures for both low‑voltage and high‑voltage applications.
- Specify, prototype, and upgrade power electronics while optimizing for DFM/DFA, cost, and performance.
- Perform root‑cause analysis and support troubleshooting using structured methods such as 8D.
- Assess existing designs for improvement opportunities and ensure alignment with global standards.
- Lead design, drawing, and specification reviews, mentoring team members and providing technical guidance.
- Maintain supplier relationships and deliver detailed, high‑quality engineering output.
